Raiffeisen Malta Bank plc was granted a banking licence in accordance with the Maltese Banking Act in November 1996 under the country's onshore regime. 
 
A series of celebrations marked the bank’s tenth anniversary in 2006. In 2007 a move to new premises became necessary due to increase in business and staff. 
 
The bank has its business focus on corporate banking and acts as a niche player offering tailored and flexible financing and investment solutions to its predominantly international customers. 

Raiffeisen Malta Bank is ultimately 100% owned by RZB. As of 31 December 2009, its total assets amounted to EUR 2,673 million.
